Financial problems at the club and a tax demand for almost £450,000 has put the club under threat. Steve Kilgouer, of the Federation of Hearts Supporters' Clubs, said fans should seize the chance to safeguard their future. "We have to stand on our own two feet and it's imperative the supporters back the share issue," he told BBC Scotland. Hearts hope to raise £1.79m with a share offer that will give supporters a 10% stake in the Edinburgh club. "Vladimir Romanov is no longer financing the club or bankrolling it," Kilgouer said. "We need £2m to carry us through to the summer. Each season, there's a £2m deficit and we have to find that. "That may come and go a bit if we manage to move players on in January." Kilgower said it was time for the Hearts fans to stand up and be counted and he appealed to those supporters who bought tickets for glamour ties against Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool to come forward. Ticket sales for the Scottish Premier League game against St Mirren - on Saturday 17 November - are "going well", with Kilgouer hoping for a sell-out. "Most of the people we represent are the hardcore support and they will get behind the club," Kilgower added. "It's the people who were phoning me up leading up to the Scottish Cup final - that's the people who need to stand up and be counted now. "The guys who were fighting for tickets for Spurs last year and for the Liverpool game this year. They need to now fight for the survivial of the club." Just had a quick look at Jambos kickback, it is a flashback to pre-Romanov with the 'Save our Hearts' campaign. They are running round trying to organise a bucket collection at the Rugby tomorrow (they hope to raise £1000), a night in a pub, raffles etc. In other words a shambles and just chucking cash at Romanov. The 'Save our Hearts' campaign was the same, they don't seem to understand they are fucked this time though and should save their money. They've had a comparatively successful period after all, made some good money on transfer fees, had European football most seasons. But enough is enough. Heart of Midlothian FC in their present form need to be allowed to die. If that takes a Rangers-style ressurrection for them to come back into existence, so be it, but it is complete and utter madness for any Hearts fan to pay £110 on a share, at this time of year, knowing fine well that all you're doing is paying a tax bill on behalf of people who can't effectively run a business. One of the things that has actually impressed me over the Romanov regime is that Tynecastle Stadium has been pretty well attended - there were a couple of seasons where it was full for almost every match. So, it's not as if you can say the Hearts fans haven't already been supporting their team. Why should they dip into their pockets again? If Aberdeen were in the exact same predicament in the exact same circumstances, unless I could afford to throw away £110 with no consequences, I wouldn't do it, because to do so is to support the failed regime. If this doesn't work out for Hearts, they will come back in another form a la Rangers. If that happens, expect more to go to the wall and football in this country to be shaken to the core. Kilmarnock and Dundee Utd aren't far behind them from what I can gather. We need to keep banging this drum for an Americanised form of league re-construction and summer football. We have failed to modernise the game here for too long. We don't offer anything different at all. But back on topic. No sympathy for Hearts fans. The shares fell as much as 12.4 percent today, closing down 7 percent at 0.12 euros ($0.15), the lowest since Oct. 28, 2004, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Volume of 766,022 shares was 11 times the three-month daily average. The shares have lost 24.5 percent since Oct. 10th. The decline began after the bank reported a nine-month net loss on Oct. 29, and accelerated on Nov. 6, when it said it took over a Lithuanian sports arena developer from debtors. Swedbank changed the shares to ‘no recommendation’ from ‘buy’ on Nov. 9, citing a lack of information about the effect of the arena transaction. The track was played in reference to Hearts’ struggles to save their club from the clutches of a winding-up order issued by Hmrc over an unpaid £450,000 PAYE, National Insurance and VAT bill. Hibs officials ensured the 1966 release from the Revolver album was cut short but, as far as the PA master of ceremonies is concerned, the move came too late.
