SeeBass Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 With James Wilson joining Adam Rooney at Salford City I wonder if in a couple of years they'll be winning the RAW Championship title!!! Got me thinking about my favourite ever striking pairing. I loved fact that the B&B duo Carlos Bacca and Cedric Bakambu used to play with each other at Villarreal. Any personal favourite yourselves?? Tyrant Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 Very few contenders from an AFC point of view which is why (I assume) you didn't post this in the AFC forum. I enjoyed watching Suarez and Sturridge at their peak a few years back. They scored some amazing goals. Quote

Elgindon Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 As far as the Dons memory goes - Harper/Archibald,Shearer/Paatelainen.Cant think of anything since then.Always thought Lovell/Miller might have worked, but it was rarely given the chance Never got into Euro fitba. In England Keegan/Toshack,Rush/Folwer,Cole/Beardsley. Lost interest down there after the silly money came in Quote
BigAl Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 Given time Nicholas and Gilhaus would have taken some beating from an Aberdeen perspective. Unfortunately their time playing together up front was all too short Quote
Elgindon Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 Forgot about Chas n Hans. Good shout. Quote
Ten Caat Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 Magoo/Black wasn't too dusty Harper/Jarvie Elsewhere Dalglish and Rush was probably the best I've seen in person, but much preferred Sharp/Gray over at Goodison Quote
Elgindon Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 Cole and Yorke, thats it. I knew Beardsley wasnt quite who I meant, though he and Cole werent too shabby either. Cole and Yorke were almost a goal a game for a while Quote
rocket_scientist Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 Keegan and Toshack, Rush and Dalglish, both were beautifully natural fits. Quote
LA-Don Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 Graeme Sharp and Andy Gray, produced the goods at the top level in England but couldn't get much of a sniff for Scotland because of the talent we had available. How striking times have changed! Quote
rocket_scientist Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 If I had to pick a dream team for Scottish history, would go Dalglish and Charlie Nic. They two together would've produced major magic. Would love to pick Joe Jordan, who, assuming he would've found the same telepathic wavelength as Keegan and if he'd played 100+ games with him, may well have been better than Toshack and been recognised as the best front duo of all time. At the best team of all time however, they have a best trio! Firmino is the MVP in that frontline, with probably Jordan Henderson overall as the MVP for the record breakers. Quote
manc_don Posted February 1, 2020 Report Posted February 1, 2020 Cole and Yorke That was my thought too, Rocket. What a pairing. Quote
SeeBass Posted February 1, 2020 Author Report Posted February 1, 2020 I always wanted to see Kennet Andersson and Sean Dundee together in real life only because I always bought them on Sensible World Of Soccer on Sega Megadrive!! Quote
tintin Posted February 3, 2020 Report Posted February 3, 2020 Sutton & Shearer at Blackburn and for the purists Tommy Coyne & Keith Wright at Dundee Quote
