manc_don Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 Offt, tyrant, you off the wagon or something? Steady on Quote
Kowalski Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I've not seen one pundit predict anything other than a Murray victory today. Not a good sign Quote
Tyrant Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Not sure how many people speaking honestly could back Tsonga. Murray is the better player. Personally I think he'll keep the heid 'till at least the final. Quote
Tyrant Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 What's interesting is seeing all the dos (English) cunts on the BBC page backing Tsonga and Federer to reach the final. Not one of them is backing Djokovic. I think Djokovic will be the one awaiting either Andy or Jo in the final. Quote
Mentorred Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I guess I will know if he won or lost if when I go onto the BBC website he is called Scotland's Andy Murray or Britain's Andy Murray Quote
Kowalski Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I think Djokovic will be the one awaiting either Andy or Jo in the final. You're doing well so far, feel free to predict Tsonga for the other semi! Federer winning is good for Murray IMHO (if he can win his semi). Quote
manc_don Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Let's hope the curse of Tyrant doesn't strike again. Agreed though Kow, Murray plays better against Federer (providing he reaches the final). Quote
Goldie03 Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Wow Strawberries & Pimms on Sunday, what a nice way to spend the afternoon Quote
Tyrant Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Watching that match on Sunday is going to be anything but nice. It's either going to be heartbreak or nerve shredding as fuck! Quote
Goldie03 Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Watching that match on Sunday is going to be anything but nice. It's either going to be heartbreak or nerve shredding as fuck! True tho I haven't been as nervous with him as I usually am - canny be any worse than watching the dons lose their fifth semi final in a row!! Quote
Tyrant Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 Any predictions for tomorrow? All the pundits are going for Murray as you'd probably expect. All I want is for Murray to give a good account of himself. I'd like to see him win a set to get that never won a set in a grand slam final monkey off his back. But my head says Federer in 4. I think Murray can match his game but Fed's experience will see him through. Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 Fed is the strong favourite, he's the best to have held a racquet. But Murray has a chance. Quote
maverick sheep Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 Fed is the strong favourite, he's the best to have held a racquet in the few years there were between there being any other quality players around. But Murray has a chance. Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 No Mav, I reckon he is the best to have picked a bat up. Quote
maverick sheep Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 No Mav, I reckon he is the best to have picked a bat up. Very possibly. always the perfect type of pub question because when it comes down to it there's no fundamentally correct answer. Best to have played with a modern racquet is more close to definite. Thing that bugs me about Federer's career from the point of view of spectator is Nadal, Djokovic being a couple years too young and Samprass, Agassi a couple years too old for Federer to have really been pushed to his limits during his best years. After the glandular fever Federer's never been back to quite that level and the other two past him by more or less. Kind of like in boxing if the best fighters were rarely in the same weight division at the same time. But...C'mon Murray! Actually still think Murray is going to win several slams, even if not this one tomorrow. Federer won't be around that long, Nadal's knees are probably about to explode and Djokovic isn't going to win everything for the remaining few years. Quote
Dandy_Don Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 Would love to be wrong, but suspect Murray will bottle it and get pumped. Quote
CtS Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 suspect Murray will bottle it and get pumped. Typical miserable, greetin' faced, glass half empty, uber-negative Jock. I agree. Quote
Kowalski Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 Feeling sorry for him already, he's under enormous pressure. Great Braveheart picture on the front of today's Sunday Post, can't see it online anywhere though. Fuck it, Murray in 4 sets!!! Quote
