Tyrant Posted March 18, 2013 Report Posted March 18, 2013 Federer was struggling with a back problem but Nadal would still have won. Frustrated at Murray's loss to DelPo. Needs to be cunts like that with cunts like Nadal back. Quote
Kowalski Posted March 31, 2013 Report Posted March 31, 2013 Cracking final in Miami tonight. Murray wins in three sets after a tiebreaker in the third. Now world number 2! Quote
mizer Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 Cracking final in Miami tonight. Murray wins in three sets after a tiebreaker in the third. Now world number 2! 1 Djokovic, Novak (SRB) 12,370 0 19 2 Murray, Andy (GBR) 8,750 1 19 3 Federer, Roger (SUI) 8,670 -1 20 4 Ferrer, David (ESP) 7,050 1 26 5 Nadal, Rafael (ESP) 6,385 -1 20 Quote
Tyrant Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 Only problem is with Rafa going down to 5 he's going to be in line to meet him in the quarters. I thought the final was strange. Never seen a lower standard final. Now there were a lot of great shots but in the deciding set neither could hold their serve. It got to the stage where holding was the new breaking. It resembled women's tennis. Still though.. a monumental effort from both players and Murray managed to beat an on form player whilst not really being on form himself throughout the whole tournament. I've never seen him serve so many double faults even with his horrible second serve. And is there a worse Hawk Eye challenger on the whole tour? Quote
Kowalski Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 And is there a worse Hawk Eye challenger on the whole tour? Yes, Ferrer, judging by Sunday! He made a complete James Hunt out of one call in the third set. I knew Murray would win when it went to the tie breaker, he is invariably very good in tie breaks. Quote
Tyrant Posted May 15, 2013 Report Posted May 15, 2013 On the verge of being pumped out by some random retard again on clay. Odd given that a slower surface like clay should suit the more defensively minded players in theory. Quote
Tyrant Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 I really hope the injury is the reason for the awful showing on clay courts this year and the injury isn't a means of giving up on the clay court season. Quote

manc_don Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Sad news, any word on how long he's likely to be out? Quote
Tyrant Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Sad news, any word on how long he's likely to be out? Sounds to me like he could have played but decided not to to minimise risk of injury recurrence and to focus on the grass court season. Quote
Kowalski Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Just thinking ahead to Wimbledon, is Murray's number 2 ranking in any danger by not taking part in the French Open? Quote
Tyrant Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Just thinking ahead to Wimbledon, is Murray's number 2 ranking in any danger by not taking part in the French Open? He'll almost definitely slip down to 3rd. Quote
maverick sheep Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Think he'd have been seeded 3rd anyway given Federer's past record. Quote
BigAl Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Really hoped that Murray would kick on this year after his maiden grand slam. 2013 could be in danger of slipping away from him though Quote
maverick sheep Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 better this than getting pumped out in the quarters and/or aggravating the injury with wimbledon so close. And he was runner up in OZ so it's not exactly panic stations. Quote
maverick sheep Posted June 4, 2013 Report Posted June 4, 2013 no point really starting a new tennis thread, but the men's semi finals are going to be immense. I'm assuming Nadal and Djokovic will meet each other which would be superb, but the Tsonga v Ferrer game should also be really high quality. Wouldn't be surprised if it's one of those two that wins the final actually. Quote
manc_don Posted June 4, 2013 Report Posted June 4, 2013 was chuffed to see Tsonga had beaten fed ex. Would definitely be my pick of the semi's , if only because we see nadal and djoko fight it out quite regularly. Quote
Tyrant Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 Da ken how they figured that Tsonga beating Federer was such a massive shock. Fed has been on a slow but steady decline since Wimbledon and Tsonga has always had the game to mix it with the guys at the very top. Djok for the title. Quote
Kowalski Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 New BBC documentary a week on Sunday: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/tennis/22852251 Looks good but disappointed that that cunt James Corden appears in it. Quote

Don't get me wrong, I hope his appearance in this is as brief as possible but it's his Ma that's worrying me more. Having said that it looks good and I'm looking forward to watching it. Quote
Kowalski Posted June 16, 2013 Report Posted June 16, 2013 Good week for Murray, turned a tough game round today to win it with a great final set. Just watching the charity doubles game, pity Henman wasn't on the other side of the net so that Murray could give him the thorough beating he deserves! Quote
manc_don Posted June 17, 2013 Report Posted June 17, 2013 Nice of Murray to give all of his winnings to the charity last night too. Boris was quite amusing with his old school racket, was impressed how many times he managed to hit it! Quote
