Tyrant Posted June 17, 2013 Report Posted June 17, 2013 Murray is a class act on and off the court. I think this year is between Murray, Djokovic and Nadal at Wimbledon. Federer won't win another slam. I think Murray will get the better of Nadal on grass but Djokovic is a whole other kettle of fash. Quote
Kowalski Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 Looks like Murray has done okay in the draw, avoiding a quarter with Nadal or Federer. Djokovic has done the best out of it though, with Murray, Nadal and Federer all in the same half of the draw. Quote
Tyrant Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 I watched the documentary on the BBC last night. Enjoyed it but there was little or nothing in it that I didn't already know. It was a shame that they had to "address" the whole anti-England banter because the English morons threw their arms up but never mind. Good watch. Quote
Tyrant Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 Btw the way.. Paddy Power are doing a special offer and are giving odds of 10-1 on Murray for new account holders to win Wimbledon. 10-1 is what his odds should probably actually be rather than 4-1 Quote

Tyrant Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 Any player other than Djokovic should be really. Apart from maybe Rafa. The two of them win when they want. Quote

So you think the current No.2 in the world, current US Open champion, Olympic gold medalist (at the venue this grand slam event is at) and last year's beaten finalist is a 10/1 shot? I'd say 4/1 is good value with all that conisdered. Quote

BigAl Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 Made a bit of a meal of first set, but one up nonetheless Nadal in serious shit elsewhere, two sets down to the world number 135 and looks like he is limping Quote
Superstar Tradesman Posted June 25, 2013 Report Posted June 25, 2013 Rather gracious about it too. Refused to blame it on an injury or make any excuses. Quote
Kowalski Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 So, possible thoughts on why Nadal is no longer at the top of his game? http://tennishasasteroidproblem.blogspot.co.uk/2011/02/curious-case-of-rafael-nadal.html Quote
Tyrant Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 Grass. It's a bit presumptuous to blame it on drugs, TF. Quote

Kowalski Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 Bit of a bizarre day with all the withdrawals. Murray looked quite comfortable. Bet he was pleased about Tsonga though. Federer in a battle just now, surely not another big name to go out!? Quote
manc_don Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 papped out , things are falling into place quite nicely. Though I have to say, it was a shame Tsonga pulled out, he's always a good watch and quite a personality. Still, C'mon Murray! Quote
Kowalski Posted June 26, 2013 Report Posted June 26, 2013 What a mental day. Can't believe Nadal, Tsonga and Federer are all out. Murray just needs to keep his concentration. I think the tournament could benefit from Murray and Djokovic NOT getting pumped out anytime soon. Quote
Tyrant Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 I think folk are getting a bit over-excited here. I don't think all that much has changed. I always expected Andy to get the better of Nadal or Federer this year anyway. If he keeps his cool and concentration he should reach the final maybe slightly fresher but these guys are no mugs. Robredo is no mug. The main hurdle is and always was Djokovic. Still predicting a Novak win. Quote
maverick sheep Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 Totally unpredictable so far so anything could happen, but looking at the draw, a Murray v Djokovic final would mean Murray playing Robredo - Troicki - Verdasco or Monaco - Paire/Almagro/Stakhovsky. Whereas Djokovic would probably play Chardy - Lopez - Gasquet/Berdych - Ferrer/Del Potro. No doubt Djokovic's side of the draw is by far the tougher, although anyone could beat anyone. That Stakhovsky guy might really have a chance himself! Quote
maverick sheep Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 Some German bloke had €100,000 on Federer to win yesterday. Quote

That Stakhovsky guy might really have a chance himself! I agree with you min but there are no names that should really trouble Djokovic. His side of the draw is now undoubtedly tougher but none of them are good enough to be a Djokovic who's truly at the top of his game and career. Roger and Rafa are/were not. Quote
Kowalski Posted June 28, 2013 Report Posted June 28, 2013 Another good win for Murray. Playing very well. Laura Robson also doing very well, she could go quite far. Quote
