rocket_scientist Posted July 10, 2016 Report Posted July 10, 2016 Just brilliant, fantastic performance. I predicted a Murray win in 4 sets but he was way too good for Raonic today. Britain's greatest ever sportsman. Goodness me. Not arguing. Just find it sad that anyone would think it let alone say it. About him. Quote
Tyrant Posted July 12, 2016 Report Posted July 12, 2016 Come back when he's won 8 singles Grandslams, 2 Doubles Grandslams, 4 mixed Doubles Grandslams and 4 Davis Cups Aye. Back when tennis didn't involve any running or powerful hitting. Quote
rocket_scientist Posted July 12, 2016 Report Posted July 12, 2016 Aye. Back when tennis didn't involve any running or powerful hitting. Relativity? Or are you solid thick? Or you speak shite for a living? Quote
Goldie03 Posted July 13, 2016 Report Posted July 13, 2016 Shut up you annoying fud. That made me giggle cheers Tyrant Quote
Kowalski Posted September 7, 2016 Report Posted September 7, 2016 He's just made a total James Hunt of the 4th set against Nishikori. Match should've been over by now. Quote
RicoS321 Posted September 7, 2016 Report Posted September 7, 2016 Oot. He was hypnotised by a jap gong it seems. Quote
manc_don Posted September 8, 2016 Report Posted September 8, 2016 Quite pleased by the result about time nishikori stepped up again. Quote
BigAl Posted November 3, 2016 Report Posted November 3, 2016 The Serb, 29, will retain his number one ranking - held for 122 weeks - if he reaches the final. However, failure to do so would allow Murray to overtake him if the Scot can win the title, or if Murray reaches the final and Djokovic exits before the semis. Ok, so crystal clear, the circumstances under which Murray can end the year as world number 1. Question is my friends, will he do it ? Quote

I'm going to say no he won't but not because Murray will exit this tournament early but because Djokovic is good enough to win when he wants and will win this tournament in my opinion. All this talk of losing his no. 1 ranking will have lit a fire under his arse. Quote
1903_Redz Posted November 3, 2016 Report Posted November 3, 2016 I think Tyrant is right with his comments above. Just watched Andy steamroller the young French lad Puoille in Paris, classy showing. Quote
BigAl Posted November 4, 2016 Report Posted November 4, 2016 Well he will never get a better chance Two games away from achieving. Quote
Kowalski Posted November 4, 2016 Report Posted November 4, 2016 Superb. Fully deserves it if he can do it. Quote
1903_Redz Posted November 5, 2016 Report Posted November 5, 2016 Can hardly believe that the results went Murrays way last night, delighted for him. But he's not there yet, good luck to him today, match starts some time after 15:30. The pressure will be on the SPOTY organisers if he wins and becomes world no.1.... good! Quote
Kowalski Posted November 5, 2016 Report Posted November 5, 2016 Raonic has pulled out. Murray will be world number 1. I expect he'd rather have played the match to reach number 1, but great news nonetheless. Quote
manc_don Posted November 5, 2016 Report Posted November 5, 2016 Absolutely, still no mean feat becoming no.1 Quote
1903_Redz Posted November 5, 2016 Report Posted November 5, 2016 Brilliant for Andy! He won't be giving a flying saucer as Worlds Number 1 sounds fooking awesome! This news has screwed up my afternoons entertainment tho... the bastard! Quote
Three Crazz Posted November 6, 2016 Report Posted November 6, 2016 Brilliant, well done to Andy GIRFUY. Englandshire & Timmy Quote
Tyrant Posted November 8, 2016 Report Posted November 8, 2016 So pleased for the guy. I can't think of anyone else more deserving of success. What a hero. I will be trying hard to see him play again next year. Quote
Kowalski Posted November 8, 2016 Report Posted November 8, 2016 Given the draw for London, it's going to be tough holding on to the number 1 spot. Quote
rocket_scientist Posted November 8, 2016 Report Posted November 8, 2016 Everyone loves Andy Murray. I'm reminded of the 95% principle. The pushy mother grates but Chewin the Fat nailed it with the dog died. Plus Dungblane. Just a fucking horrible hellhole of Scotland. I hugely admire his dedication and his achievement. I just wouldn't want a pint with the cunt. As for his brother Jamie, holy fuck. Quote
Ten Caat Posted November 8, 2016 Report Posted November 8, 2016 Given the draw for London, it's going to be tough holding on to the number 1 spot. Given the draw, which Djokovic would have hand picked if he could ( and could get even easier for Djokovic if as expected Raonic pulls out), I'd say its very nearly impossible for Murray to remain number 1 after London. Even if Murray reaches the final, after his recent heavy schedule and Djokovic's sporadic appearances, Djokovic is bound to be much fresher and likely to come through. Id still back Murray to regain top spot early next season though. Quote

That's provided Djokovic is fit and regains some form, he's looked really out of sorts for months now even if he is struggling with injuries. Murray has significantly less ranking points to defend too which will help, agree it's a really tough draw for him though. Here's hoping he can hold on to top spot, phenomenal achievement getting to number one from a phenomenal athlete. Must be a dead cert for Sports Personality of the Year this year too. Quote

RicoS321 Posted November 19, 2016 Report Posted November 19, 2016 Cracking match against Raonic there. Awesome performance and an exciting finish. Finishes the year as number one, as does his brither. Impressive fae the Dunblane cunts. Quote
