When we signed Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Christian Ramirez and more so once Marley Watkins had returned permanently one prayed this trio would be a massive success.  I've lost a lot of love for my team since Rooney, McGinn, Hayes were broken up.

I've always thought our current No.7, No.9 and No.14 could have same huge imprint on me that Shearer, Windass and Dodds did in nineties.

I would love nothing more than to see above trio bang in around thirty to forty goals between them.

Discuss.

Well I don't think we are going to get the 20 goals from jet he promised us when he signed but I'm at peace with that.  He's not a striker for me but a no 10 all day long.

2bh I was a bit meh on resigning Watkins but I have to say he's been a real asset since coming back into the team.  Ramirez has done so well, especially when you consider the culture shock of moving to a new continent.  I hope the club are looking to extend his deal a year as he's ooc at the end of next season.

Overall 40 between the 3 of them is ambitious but not impossible.  🤞

Agreed, Ramirez has been a huge relief. Seems to have embraced his time with us and hopefully feeling pretty settled. A good poacher, which we need and as tlg says, I’d definitely be looking to extend his deal.

Watkins I was happy enough with coming back, given how he played with Hedges in his first stint. Would be nice if he managed to convince him to sign a new deal before we’re able to sell him. seems to be getting fitter and up to speed.

JET, has great ability and probably not someone I’d have signed. However in games like this, it’s great to have that option. A luxury? Maybe, but if he helps create space and opportunities for others, I’m ok with that.

JET has no movement which is frustrating to watch most of the time, but his hold up play and passing is some of the best in the league! Imagine if he actually ran into space and looked for the ball. What a player he would be.

I disagree. In the last two games his movement was excellent. He doesn't move far or fast, he just drifts left to right across the pitch, dropping deep too, if necessary. The number of times in the Livingston game he received the ball in space demonstrated that perfectly. Less so in the St Mirren game, but still fairly regular. He doesn't charge about like an idiot, he just watches his opponent and takes a few steps away from him at the right time, offering an outball. It's intelligent movement rather than constant movement, which is what you need from a player of his pace (lack of). I sit in the RDL, and maybe it's more obvious from the end view, compared to if you were in the South or Main or watching on TV - because his movement is quite horizontal at times. It requires a strong and disciplined midfield two to prevent the break though, as he's clearly not getting back to defend in any hurry. Ferguson provided that on Saturday very well, and less so Brown (what the fuck was he doing for their goal?) who looks like he might benefit from the 7 day rest.

Jet was exactly the type of signing you expect from a manager who really only sees a player play against his own team. Exactly as McInnes did on numerous occasions. Exactly the type of signing that you expect a recruitment specialist with equal say in these matters a veto over. As we didn't have such an employee at the time, it's a completely acceptable error. He's not as shite as Calvin Zola, which was the equivalent McInnes signing in his first window. I'm guessing besuijen is the benchmark for how signings will be made in future, and we can judge Glass on his ability to get the best out of guys like that. Jet might give us a vital ten minutes between now and the summer, but I think that's the best we can hope for.

Big difference for me from last season is how the fans interpret things. It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall at Pittodrie to see exactly who does what and each persons responsibilities because let’s be honest, we all think we know but we don’t really have a clue what goes on day to day.

Last season when things started to go pear shaped it was blamed on the managers tactics, the managers recruitment, the managers training methods.

Glass has had a pretty easy ride from the fans. The bad signings are being blamed on not having a recruitment guy in on time, the striking coach specialist is blamed  for us not scoring enough goals and even the guy Henry whatshisname was being blamed for the tactics the other night.  The director of football also took a bit of flak on here the other night.
