BigAl
Absolutely gutted to hear this morning of the passing of "The Brush" aka Davie Robb Appreciate he was before the time of most of us on here apart from myself and MBT, but he was a real hero of mine. What a character with a decent goal scoring record for us. Thanks especially for '76 final Davie. Rest in peace.

Dundee at Dens in the cup in '67 (I'm that old!). A real legend for the dons. RIP, brush

Madbadteacher
Devastated! One of my all time favourites. Is there not a story that Bobby Clark dreamt “The Brush” would get the winner in the 76 final?
Barcosente
When I moved to Aberdeen back in 67, Davie Robb is the first Aberdeen player I remember. Hustle and bustle, commited and with a decent eye for goal. He was a nightmare for defenders to play against, physical without being dirty. I well remember the winning goal in the 76 League cup final. I also remember a hatrick against Motherwell at Pittodrie, and a penalty miss on the final day of the season against Hibs that the Dons needed to win to have a chance of staying up. Davie eventually got his goal, the Dons stayed up and the next season Davie scored the winner in the League Cup final. "The brush" has a special place in the hearts of Dons fans of a certain age such as myself. RIP Davie Robb.
