Every chance the same side plus AN other might have lost that game without him. In contention for MoM alongside Duk and McRorie.Typical industrious performance, though just managed to avoid a yellow card IMO

Our main threat was Mcrorie bombing forward and Duk muscling his way through...Miovski (sorry DD) just isn't cutting it, he was unlucky with the lob but should have buried the one-on-one, hopefully it's a strikers temporary dry spell (even Joey had the occasional time when he didn't score (probably 3 or 4 games!) but he has to start scoring soon, hat-trick next Sunday would do. Kennedy was simply shite...twice he moved across the park in the first half, with an obvious ball out wide to Coulson and each time he punted the ball into touch, to misquote Oscar Wilde "to misplace 1 pass is unfortunate but...etc" and why does he take all our corners?  You never feel confident that we'll score from his corner kicks (remember the days when we had corner routines under McInnes/Glass), he puts the ball on the quadrant, sticks his arm up and loops the ball into the area, so even if Stewart or Scales win it there's no pace on the ball...contrast with Hayes' corner, whipped in so that the attackers can attack the ball.  Anyway no defeats in '23, no goals conceded in '23.

Any more details on shinnie’s performance?

Exactly what we’ve been missing in the middle of the park. Aggression, energy, getting in the ref’s face. Looks like a promising pairing with Rama.

Miovski will be fine, he's getting into the right positions and just needs a goal. It will come.

I was only able to watch the extended highlights on rtv so I can't comment greatly on overall game but on chances created looked well worth the win.  I wasn't looking forward to this one either as it's not like St J haven't been a bogey team in the past. Defo would have taken uninspiring 1-0 win with a late sclaffed goal off Consi's shin wrongfoots the keeper.

Onto der hun...

It was good to see him get into a few good positions, and his lob was a good effort. However, his all round play was honking yesterday. He looked laboured and slow, and he didn't once get his body between man and ball to offer any hold up or flick on. His chances all came from Gordon for them being completely unable to judge long balls.

Him starting next week could be the difference between winning and losing, and Goodwin has to drop him. We can't afford a passenger, and he'll likely be that at Hampden. I think you're right that he'll come good, but now isn't the time to be playing him into form.
