with Leeds being bought by 49ers organisation I can them spending to get out of championship rather than developing young players.

Hopefully. The fewer players that plot a successful path after leaving our youth setup without playing a first team game, the better. Of course, there are plenty of personal reasons why he might want, or need, to move on, that we're not party to so it's not a criticism of his decision. From an Aberdeen perspective, it's best that he tails off into significance in the same way as someone like Grimmer (whilst still having a great career).

Really thought grimmer would push on from his Fulham days. But I agree, better that the pathway is a weak one whereas one sticking at the club proves to be successful. Do need to start pulling more academy boys through for that to happen though…

£150k initially, potentially £200k, with a sell on clause attached.

Probably the best we could hope for considering his age.

The best we could have hoped for would have been to chain him outside Cormack park, forcing him to sign an unprecedented eight year contract.

I play golf with a Leeds fan. He wasn't that excited about the signing of Pirie.

What have you done Lewis?

Leeds seem to be signing a few Scottish youth players. They have also signed a young lad from Hamilton this week.
